Meredith Cloninger, LCMHC
I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Meredith and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Supervisor in North Carolina. I provide both counseling and supervision for counseling professionals. Facing life with both honesty and hope is at times overwhelming and lonely. It’s my honor to provide support and witness for people as they acknowledge pain and struggle, and look to restore meaning and hope amid ongoing, sometimes chronic life stories. I enjoy working with individuals around issues of grief, co-addiction, spiritual confusion, anxiety and depression, and relational complexities.

My regular office hours are daytimes on Monday and Tuesdays, with virtual appointment availability on Thursdays.
About My Practice
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina (S8087). I received my Masters in Counseling from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in 2009, and a Bachelors degree in Religion, with a minor in Psychology from Furman University in 2004. I have 17 years of counseling experience, having worked at The Barnabas Center in group practice, and now in private practice. I have been a licensed supervisor for 7 years, and I have significant counseling experience in working with grief, both acute and chronic, issues surrounding loving someone with mental illness and/or addiction, and anxiety and depression.
My hope and intent in my work with clients is to provide a safe and nurturing relationship as the grounding for owning both pain and responsibility, in hopes of bringing a depth of healing to and greater love in relationships with God and other people. I love to provide presence and courage in mourning deep loss, and to help look for and celebrate redemption where it is unexpected.

The decision to seek counseling is a difficult one and requires much courage. I see the counseling relationship as a safe place to repair relational damage and distrust, bring shame into community, and burdens for another to shoulder with you. In receiving kind witnessing, acknowledgment, reframing and insight, and loving challenge, I hope clients can rebuild a sense of worth, perspective and hope in their stories.
